  literaly the only thing bewteen Amarillo and the New Mexico border  
  Texas panhandle = wind farm  
  they were all over the place  
  you can tell were getting closer to NM  
  starting to get some plateau action going on

  I got the over all feeling that we were going down into New Mexico  
  sweet plateaus  
  longggggg roads  
  Welcome to New Mexico  
  I banged a U-Turn on the highway to try and get a better shot of the welcome to Texas sign. Turns out this one wasnt any better due to the sun blasting me in the face

  Here is where the real long distance straight aways are, New Mexico  
  The roads here just follow the contours of the terrain. They dont move mountains, they just slap down some asphalt  
  The closest thing to a mountain we had seen since Pennsylvania  
  right outside Tucumari, NM  
  rolling the clock back to mountain time this was the second 8:30 AM we had
